Top 10 Tips for Saving Time

Moms have a tough job keeping everything together with very little time. Between family, work, hobbies, clipping coupons, and everyday life, it doesn’t leave a whole lot of time left over. Here are some of my favorite tips for keeping your sanity.

  1. Plan your grocery list in advance so you can get in and out of the grocery store as quickly as possible. Go to the grocery store on a Monday morning, you get some of the best markdowns and the store is almost empty.
  2. Do holiday shopping ahead of time throughout the year. Not only can you score a great deal when the item is on sale during the year. You can save on having those after holiday bills. It also won’t leave you with an overwhelming list. Buy ahead and enjoy the holiday season without the stress.
  3. Pickup birthday gifts throughout the year. You will always have a selection of gifts for those last minute birthday parties your kids are invited to. Pick up things on sale or clearance and keep a gift box in your closet.
  4. Order meals from a dinner prep location near you. This will make for a quick and healthy dinner.
  5. Clean one room every few days instead of trying to do it all at once.
  6. Set the washing machine or dishwasher to run when you leave the house. This way when you get home it’s already done. Saves time from waiting for it to finish. You can also set it before you go to bed.
  7. Prepare dinner the night before so when you get home from work you can just throw the pan in the oven and aren’t rushing around. Or older children that are home earlier can just pop in it the oven.
  8. Set out your clothes and the kid’s the night before so mornings are easier. They can get up and get themselves ready – if they are old enough without having to rush around or stress about what to wear.
  9. Even the best moms need to take shortcuts once in a while when it comes to preparing meals. Buy premade sandwich pockets or frozen stir fries. While they aren’t the most nutritious occasionally it won’t do anyone any harm
  10. Pay your bills online. It takes seconds to just plug in the payment amounts for all your bills at once and you don’t have to buy stamps and go to the post office. Just schedule the payment and forget it.
